The Hiatus
A calculated pause — what Beyoncé was building while Destiny's Child went quiet
November 2004. Destiny's Child releases an album called Destiny Fulfilled, and the title says everything the group cannot bring itself to say out loud.
"Cater 2 U" official music video, Destiny's Child (2005). The group's most vulnerable single. Three women singing about devotion while quietly preparing to say goodbye to each other.
Cater 2 U (2004)
"Cater 2 U" is the softest song Destiny's Child ever released. The production is built on gentle keys and a slow, swaying rhythm that lets the vocals carry everything. For a group that built its catalog on independence anthems like "Survivor" and "Bills, Bills, Bills," choosing tenderness as a final statement is a radical departure. The vocal distribution is the most democratic of any DC single: Kelly opens, Michelle handles the bridge with warmth that rivals Beyonce's tone, and the three-part harmony on the chorus is the closest the trio comes to sounding like genuine equals.
The Goodbye Tour
The Destiny Fulfilled... and Lovin' It tour is publicly announced as a farewell during a concert in Barcelona on June 11, 2005. The announcement is emotional but not surprising. By mid-2005, Beyonce's solo album Dangerously in Love has already gone five times platinum, and everyone in the room knows the math does not support keeping the group together.

What is the name of Beyonce's entertainment company, named after the street she grew up on in Houston?
Soldier (Destiny's Child ft. T.I. & Lil Wayne)
One of the hardest Destiny's Child tracks ever released, featuring two of the biggest rappers of the 2000s before either had reached their commercial peak. The stuttering beat and triple vocal attack make it a highlight of Destiny Fulfilled.
Season 2 ends in Barcelona, with three women taking a bow and a group that sold sixty million records becoming part of music history. But for Beyonce Knowles, the ending is a beginning.
