Meet the Grahams
A letter to Drake's family. His son, his mother, his father, then Drake himself. Devastating and personal
May 3, 2024. Kendrick doesn't drop another diss track. He writes letters: to Drake's son, Drake's parents, Drake's alleged daughter, and then Drake himself.
Kendrick Lamar, meet the grahams (official audio, 2024). No music video. No visuals. Just Kendrick's voice and four letters addressed to the Graham family. The lack of imagery is the point: these words don't need a video to destroy.
meet the grahams, Kendrick Lamar (2024)
The track is structured as consecutive letters, each addressed to a different member of Drake's family. The production is somber and restrained, piano-driven, almost like a funeral score. Kendrick's delivery shifts with each letter: tender when addressing the son, measured to the parents, cutting to the alleged daughter, ruthless to Drake. Listen for how the beat barely changes while the emotional register transforms completely.

The Letters
The first letter addresses Drake's young son Adonis, and Kendrick's voice is gentle. He tells the boy his father has things to answer for, but that none of it is his fault. By the time Kendrick gets to the fourth letter, addressed to Drake himself, the gentleness is gone. What's left is a man delivering a verdict.

TAP TO REVEAL: What did Kendrick drop on the same day as meet the grahams?
In what order does Kendrick address the Graham family on "meet the grahams"?
heart pt. 6, Kendrick Lamar (2024)
From GNX. Drake titled one of his response tracks "The Heart Part 6," trying to claim Kendrick's signature series. Six months later, Kendrick reclaimed it on his own album. This version is quieter and more reflective than the beef's heat-of-the-moment tracks, Kendrick processing what the war meant now that it's over.
heart pt. 6, Kendrick Lamar (2024)
Read the lyrics while you listen. Kendrick takes back the Heart series from Drake while reflecting on the beef's toll. The tone is different from meet the grahams: less fury, more certainty. The war is over and he's writing the history.
meet the grahams
Meet the grahams was the knife. But the song Kendrick dropped the next morning was the bomb: a DJ Mustard beat, a chant the whole world learned in a weekend, and the diss track that became the song of the summer. Next: Not Like Us.
